Gosei Power Kaihoki Tensouder & Gosei Card Buckle Set (2010)

This is a strange one. But, that's why it's cool. I love cellphone changers, but when Sentai goes miles outside of its wheelhouse, I can't help but be impressed. It's an Ultimate Warrior-esque tiki-head of sorts. Or, moai, if you're familiar with Easter Island, I guess? You stick a card on its tongue and it gets read as it retracts inside. As with all toys with card-readers, you can find barcodes online if you look hard enough. The buckle is chromed as hell and holds around 10 cards, if you're anal about not damaging them. On this note, also keep in mind there's a clip to depress when removing the cards from the Tensouder itself.

Comparisons and the list of included cards are below the cut.

3½ Ways to Bring the Lightning out of 5

Included Cards:

Stand-alone Tensouder: Change Gosei Red, Summon Skick Sword,
                                              Summon Gosei Dragon, Twistornado,
                                              Combine Gosei Great (Skick)
Stand-alone Buckle: Summon Seaick Bowgun, Summon Shark Headder,
                                       Summon Gosei Tiger
This set: All of the above and a non-show Gosei Red card that says
"Gosei Red." It has lightning behind him, but it's not the special
Comprethunder card from Epic 13. That comes with his vinyl figure.

The cards included with all of the Goseiger toys are the same size as Dice-O cards. To my knowledge, the remaining Gosei cards, that were actually put to print, were predominantly released via Dice-O machines. I.e., Gosei cards are Dice-O cards. There were a smattering of promotional cards available other ways, as well.

The Gosei Morpher in Megaforce was a very full-featured rendition of this and if you're a long-time fan of Power Rangers, it behooves you to get it. Some great cards were made and released in, I think, four different sets. They made this into a character (named Gosei.......) and there's a chromed version that was a convention exclusive out there. I'm pretty sure that's only good for collecting fingerprints, though, as I can't think of an on-screen rationale for chroming it.

Megaforce cards are larger than Dice-O cards and all share the same back.
