DX Blay and Garren Buckles (2004)

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact that Garren is flipping us off?
Straight gangsta, all day, every day.

Blade and Garren’s belts are so similar that they should have been a single piece with interchangeable suit plates for the flipping panel. The plastic colors and paint apps are different shades, but that could have been remedied by having the show props be identical. They’re made by the same organization, after all. The execution is screen-accurate, but it doesn’t translate well. Having to clip the belt in for the standby sound is cool when CGI is on your side, but not here. Shove a change card in, pull the handle, a panel flips. It’s a shame when amazing Riders get shitty belts. These are only necessary for a completist display and should be the first things skipped.

Comparisons and a list of the availability of DX rouze cards are located below the cut.

1 Lame Trick Pony, Twice Over out of 5

Having owned the Bandai Asia Garren belt and the Korean Blade belt, I can assure you they are the same toys as the original releases, save for the text on the Korean cards. However, the text on the Japanese cards is already inaccurate because the prop cards have English. Does it really matter? If it does, have fun paying through the nose for script you’re going to be pretending doesn’t exist, anyway.

Both belts come with the correct DX change cards (Category Ace) and two filler cards apiece. If Bandai wasn’t out to make money they could have spread out the rest of the real cards across every DX release, but that’s not how the world works.

Here's a complete list of the availability of the DX cards:

DX Trump Box:
  • It's easier to list what it DOESN'T CONTAIN
    • NO Dia 10 - Thief Chameleon
    • NO Alternate Club Ace
    • NO Club 7 - Gel Jellyfish
    • NO Club Queen - Absorb Tiger
    • NO Joker
    • NO Kerberos
    • NO King Deck
    • NO Cards from Missing Ace
I can understand not having any of the movie cards. I can understand not having the King Deck. The rest of the omissions are baffling, though, considering that they don't come with any of the toys. You'd think it'd include everything that wasn't released with them. I.e., a complete gap-filler.

But, no...

If you're the kind of person to want the Trump Box, you're the kind of person who should just take the plunge and get the Rouze Card Archives.
